Club President Brian Morgan said the club raised $15,000 and the Australian Lions Foundation donated an additional $7500 to the project. "We had money in the bank and we were looking for something worthwhile to spend it on," Club President Brian Morgan said. "It's something that's going to be of use not just in Box Hill, but for people across Melbourne."

Epworth chief executive Dr Peter Hughes said the donation was the fIrst of any kind to the hospital. Dr Hughes said the radiology department was already open for outpatients.
